The National Institute of Standards and Technology is seeking public comment on a broad range of cybersecurity issues. NIST issued a request for information in Wednesday’s Federal Register for public opinion to help guide its advisory role in the White House’s Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity.

“Steps must be taken to enhance existing efforts to increase the protection and resilience of the digital ecosystem, while maintaining a cyber environment that encourages efficiency, innovation, and economic prosperity,” reads the notice.

The, a 12-member, presidentially appointed commission was created by presidential order in February. It is housed within the Department of Commerce.
