France Demonstrates Security Savoir Faire As It Enforces New Cyber-Security Law

Brittany, in north-western France, is best known for its crepes and apple cider. This weekend, it also became the site of the biggest cyber-attack in French history. The assault — a state-orchestrated drill at the country’s top military academy in Coetquidan to test efforts for withstanding such an event — was also designed to show off French national security savoir faire. In the simulation, more than 50 soldiers worked on blocking the 72-hour offensive on “Blueland,” France’s code-name, from a state called “Outland.”
